Aysha has over 20 years of experience in sustainable agriculture and water reuse systems. She started out as a permaculture practioner in the high desert of New Mexico and became fascinated with water. She received an MS in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley, with a focus on water quality and hydrology. Her professional experience includes project management, surveying, site assessment, hydrologic modeling, design, permitting, construction and project monitoring. In addition to helping build drought-resilient infrastructures utilizing rain water and greywater, she is committed to developing solutions for equitable and sustainable access to safe drinking water.
Alfonso has a diverse background that includes a B.A. in Development Studies from UC Berkeley with a focus on sustainable development and over 15 years of experience working as a graphic designer. More recently, his work has encompassed design and installation of rainwater harvesting and greywater reuse systems. Poncho learned the ropes of ecological design as a worker-owner at Dig Cooperative and Designer/Foreman for Indra Designs, two of the Bay Area's leading water conservation firms. As a systems designer at Drought Smart, Alfonso works to make water conservation resources more accessible to everyday folks while helping Californians prepare for long-term drought.
Scott is an expert in green plumbing practices and technologies with over 15 years of experience in the plumbing trade. His expertise includes installation of drainage systems, water piping, EPA certified WaterSense fixtures, pumps, and zone controlled circulating systems. In 2000, he joined Albert Nahman Plumbing where he worked in both the construction and service departments, eventually becoming the service manager and project manager of the radiant heating division. Scott acquired his C36 plumbing license in 2010 and created Rector Plumbing & Radiant Heating, providing a full range of plumbing services with an eco-friendly focus on water saving fixtures, high efficiency tankless water heaters, and fully condensing boilers. Scott brings his experience and commitment to green technologies to the Drought Smart team.
